Hello there, I have a recipe to cook lamb with wine (half a bottle ) and I was wondering if it is ok to give food cooked with wine to my 15mo. Does anyone know what the reccomendations are for giving food with alcohol on it for children? Many thanks

Not sure of the exact position but the alcohol will get burnt off in the cooking. It's not like serving them Sherry Trifle!

I should think that by the time it has cooked, the alcohol will have burned off anyway (does it do that?)

Your todler won't be having a vast amount of the wine anyway will they

Oh, thought this would be a recipe for Toddler Stew

{disappointed}

did you eat his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti?

I find that with a toddler around it is essential to add one glass of wine to the cooking, and the rest of the bottle to my tummy

ooops didn't realised the title was a little bit misleading but don't worry, I have no intention of cooking any toddler with wine or any other way . Thanks for all your feedback and appreciated the sense of humour

I always add a glass of wine to my gravy on a sunday.

DD (16 months) also eats chicken and white wine stew, Lamb with red wine stew, chicken and leek stragonaff with white wine .. I've just realised how much alchol I cook with [bush]

Love the thread title! When cooking with a toddler you need a glass of wine to help you be more relaxed about the mess!
Seriously though, any alcohol will boil away in the cooking so it won't do the little one any harm. Avoid alcohol-soaked puds though.

LOL - I'm with hidetheribbons ! I only looked at the thread because of the title !
