Going to London for two days - have always made baby's food myself. Realising this may be difficult with travel - airports, planes, hotel etc. Can anyone recommend good baby food to make me feel better?

depends how old the baby is really. We went away a few weeks after starting solids and took along some basic stuff - rice cakes, fruit , avocados but also bought a couple of organic (Plum) baby jar things as they were a bit more practical than carting home made food around !

She's 7 months old

is she having purees still or lumpy/mashedfoods?

ellas kitchen do some good easy to transport puree but they are really pureed consistency, the plum baby 7+ range is a much better mashed consistency but is very £££, my ds has mostly fionger food but loves the plum baby chedder, carroet and red lentil one for some reason

If you're talking purees, the Ella's kitchen pouches are really nice for convenience - nothing in them but pureed fruit/veg, very handy for in your bag, you can re-cap and re-use if she doesn't finish it in one go. My 8moDS, who's more used to eating our food at home, is more than happy to grab spoonfuls of it from me when out and about. YOu can buy them in most supermarkets.

no teeth yet but can manage few lumpy bits.haven't seen ella's kitchen - will look out for it. Do you know of problems bringing food through airport security?

I would do the same as Sazlocks - you could have one meal a day as a Plum baby pot - probably breakfast maybe - although breakfast is easy if you get some Plum porridge and just add (cows) milk whereever you are so scratch that and say dinner.

Then for lunch just take an avocado or a banana and get some toast to have with it.

oh and get used to the baby eating food at room temperature - this makes your life soo much easier...

Thanks - don't know what I'd do without all you lovely people to ask!
