Have had a free vanilla pod with my veg box and not sure what to do with it. Any ideas? TIA

Get a lidded jar, fill it with caster sugar & bury the pod in it. Keep that on hand for using the sugar in stewed fruit, cakes, etc. Or just occasionally taking the lid off and breathing in glorious scent. MMMMMMM

Stick it in a bag of sugar while you decide. Then you will have lovely vanilla sugar to use for yummy cakes.

Snap, Bink.

I was about to ask this

(We frequently have three small noses (mine isn't very big) fighting for the airspace over the jar. How I love it)

Thanks for your replies. Have given up sweet things for Lent so great to have suggestions for use now and in 35 days time.

Did your vanilla not come with the Riverford recipes? If you're still stuck there are over a dozen recipes on the Riverford website www.riverfordstockley.co.uk/recipes/recipe_list.php?listType=recipe_search.

Used ours this weekend to make the panettone pudding - mmmmm.

I must have recycled any recipes in the box. Will have to look on the website. It was very exciting to get it free in the box.

I really fancy the vanilla custard. Just need to get the ingredients and get a cake to go with it.

Anyone attempted vanilla ice-cream?
