... if he puts them in a tupperware box with half an apple will it restore a little softness/chewiness? They're delicious but would definitely benefit from being a little less dry. Any ideas?

smother with cream or ice cream.

don't know about the fruit, sorry.

my dh sometimes tops his with strawberry jam

Worth a go but they won't have that crisp outer, chewy inner. It's a good idea though so I reckon he should do it

Send them to me - I'll eat brownies any which way....

but putting them in tupperware prob a good idea and apple can't hurt.

that you have a Brownie-baking-DH

They do get a bit softer the second day (not that they often survive to the second day in our house)

SoupDragon · 17/02/2009 19:59

Try microwaving a slice for 30 seconds.

madlentileater · 17/02/2009 19:59

actually they will be deadly poisonous but at the lentileater house we have a means of disposing of them safely. He can send them here.

Did the brownies survive the night?? I can send in a crack team to save them.......

meridian · 18/02/2009 10:41

you could serve them with pouring cream and/or a drizzle of tia maria or simiar..or even a shot of espresso for espresso brownies! drinks too much coffee

Well not sure if it was the apple or the wait that did the trick but they're definitely more moist today!
