Using GF flour to make brownies - ok or add an egg?

Haven't had time to test-run this, but going to make gf brownies for coeliac family.

Will a straight substitution do or should I add another egg?

i would add an egg

my friend is GF (and dairy free)

the liquid needs to be wetter as it dried more and gets more crumbly

i would def add an egg and maybe a bit of milk too!

with most recipies just swapping normal flour for GF, doesnt quite work prefectly, but is edible!

Better to get a specific recipe tbh as straight substitution doesn't usually work.

You can also get Xanthan gum at health food shops which is added to replace the gluten as it's the gluten that gives bread and cakes their texture.

I did a quick search and found this recipe from the queen of purees

and this one

supercook baking powder is gluten free.

did a straight swap. Added what was left of an egg that had been used to glaze piecrust, put in a container, knocked over by dh; it was fine. think brownies work well as there is so little flour in them anyway. They were thoroughly scoffed by coeliacs and rest of the family didn't even notice they were GF! Thanks Daisy
