I love cous cous, but have never cooked it, what do I do? It's not cooking instructions I need, but what can I add to it to give it flavour etc.

Olive oil and lemon juice. Yum.
Or use a stock cube.
Coriander, finely chopped red onion, basil.
Yum. We're eating it tonight.

I am, right now, eating the biggest bowl of roasted veg and cous cous. Tis loverly!

I also do a nice one to go with roast lamb. lemon juice and zest, rocket, feta cheese, peas and olives.

Oh thank you, I new it'd be simple but am no domestic goddess. I might just attempt to make some this evening too.

I love cous cous too. One of my favourite ways of eating it is plain with a spicey tomato, chickpea and veg sauce.

I love cous-cous too!!! Roasted veg & cous cous is yummy, I agree Maureen. I have this recipe to share. Its great on its own or with meat as a side,

Couscous Salad
Ingredients
200g cous-cous
400 ml of boiling veg stock
250g punnet cherry tomatoes
175g chestnut mushrooms
½ bunch of spring onions
2 tbsp olive oil
3-4 tbsp green pesto
handful of toasted pine nuts
handful basil

  1. Soak the Cous-cous Put the couscous in a heatproof bowl & pour over the boiling stock. Cover with cling film & leave to soak for 5 minutes ONLY. 2)Halve the tomatoes & finely chop the spring onions & mushrooms. 3)After the couscous has soaked for 5 minutes, fork through to break up lumps, then stir in the oil & the pesto to taste. Next tip in all the veg & the nuts. Stir well. Tear in the basil leaves. Taste & season if necessary. Serve now at room temp or store in fridge for up to 2 days.

Enjoy!

I like it cold...

Cook up couscous (see if you can get different grains - maybe Kamut)
Mix in... sweetcorn, green peppers, spring onions/red onion, corriancer, mint, parsley, chopped tomatoes with a good slosh of olive oil and squeeze of lemon.
