Any ideas for breakfast which doesn't include milk or bread??!

Dd1 hates milk with a passion so we fight over trying to get her to eat cereal in the morning and it's not worth it, if she hates it she's not going to eat it.
We did switch to bread things (eg toast, pain au chocolate, pancakes, etc) but these seem to make her constipated even though she always has fruit with it to balance it into a healthy breakfast.
Doesn't like porridge or yogurt that much.
AGGHH! Before I go mad can anyone suggest anything?
BTW, she is 8 and eats fabulously at every other meal but it is ruining the start to the day by us rowing because I think she should have something healthy for breakfast.
Thanks!

DD2 likes cereal with a couple of spoonsful of yoghurt from the big Yeo or Rachel's tubs. Or with fruit compote.

Omelette.

Yoghurt, fruit, seeds and honey.

Boiled egg.

Cheese, ham and fruit?

Scrambled egg and bakked beans

Toasted bagel (with ham/cheese)
Pancake with bacon & maple syrup
Apple/bran muffin
Banana loaf
Cheese on toast

I'm getting hungry now!

If I havn't got milk - then i put orange juice on museli, and a little fruit. Or soak porridge in juice over night and eat with a little sugar - it is surprising the difference in the porridge if it has been soaked over night. It takes on the look of flapjacks.

Does your daughter like fruit crumble? I used to love this for breakfast on a Sunday, my mum would make crumble for guests and there was always left overs on a sunday so I would inish it o. helthy to a point due to the fruit.

What about banana loaf with rasins - a ILb of bananas and a little yogut in the mix to keep the loaf moist. I can supply the recipy if you want.

or carrot muffins?

Scrambled eggs with rice instead of bread.

Dry cereal with fruit juice (Innocent smoothie?)

More liquid of any kind (even water) should help with constipation.

If you are finding that your dd is constipated - it is best to steer clear of eggs - they make you bunged up and will add to the constipation problem.

My dds like toasted bagels with apple sauce, cinammon and creme fraiche.

Malt loaf and fruit.

nigellas books always have great ideasfor breakfst ... flapjacks, smoothies, rice (uncle bens microwavable rices - if you are really pressed for time - not NL obviously), tortilla's, bruschetta, granola, these little sticky balls covered in sesame seeds.

Let me know if you need recipes...

I also like banana then natural yoghurt then honey in a tall glass.

I often do sausages in the oven if I get up early as you can just bung them in and take them out when dc's get up.

Finally, Kiwi's are brilliant at preventing constipation.

would she have a differetn kind of milk on? like soya or rice milk? imo it tastes v diff (and revolting lol)

How about a smoothy - home made with kiwi, banana add some rolled oat to thicken it and keep her going till lunch, a few ice cubes (possibly some oj)to thin it out and stick a cocktail umbrealla in the top.

two fruits and oats all before school, add to this a flap jack, should keep her going.
