American biscuit style pie topping (Savoury)??

My mum used to make American turkey pie with biscuits (not cookies, sweet buscuits, but a savoury short pasty type thing).

I'd love to do one for tonight's dinner, I've defrosted some left-over xmas turkey, but can't think how to make the crusty stuff on the top.

Someone suggested a cobbler style top is similar, but I've never done that either.

Anyone please?

this any good?

i guess you could omit the herbs if you wanted a plain topping.

Yes, look for a cobbler recipe but don't put the sugar in. Add herbs or cheese to give it a bit more oomph. Sounds like a yummy idea, I may try it myself.

I think it's just a basic scone mix actually, these biscuits/cobbler things.

I think this is what you'd call a Turkey Pot Pie

cobbler is as close as you'll get
basically it's scone dough but was probably made with shortening rather than butter - use lard, Trex or Cookeen to get the same effect

or if you can lay your hands on BisQuick it makes very good US-style 'biscuits'
