I put them in a tin foil parcel in the oven,
DH pan fries them
and I would still eat them today but smell them first

what BTPOGS said.
but I put a bit of white wine in my tinfoil parcel, and maybe a bit of lemon too. And butter/oil on the foil first to stop them sticking to it. Takes about 25 mins in a medium oven.

Ta x [goes off to investigate tin foil situation]

I would smell them first. Fish is best eaten the day it is bought or the next day.
Just done them for the kids. Wrapped in foil with a bit of butter.

have a sniff 1st!

I baked them in foil with a little butter and plenty of sliced almonds. (mmm hungry now..)

Wonderstuff · 09/02/2009 17:27

Found foil but sadly no lemons or white wine (have rose but am thinking that won't work) passed sniff test and actually were brought yesterday so all good. Have mistimed veg! Dh normally does cooking and lack of practise over last decade has left me inept

Just on their own or with a bit of butter is fine.

Wonderstuff · 09/02/2009 17:49

We do ours in the GeorgeForman grill sprinkled with a little chinese 5 spice - a little sharwoods spice jar that most supermarkets have. Not too spicy or hot - just a lovely bit of flavour.

Maybe try that next time?

I marinade mine for half an hour or so, before baking in the oven. Marinade: chopped garlic, chopped ginger, sesame oil, soy sauce, chinese 5 spice, black pepper and oregano.

Very quick Teriyaki-style salmon:

Marinate for 15 mins or so in a mixture of brown sugar, soy sauce, ginger & garlic. Grill. Good with noodles & steamed greens.

Otherwise, I bung in the oven with a bit of chopped garlic and some sprigs of rosemary dotted over and serve with potatoes & veg.

i bake them on a non stick baking tray with a few slices of lemon and a blob of butter, at 180 for 20 mins

or marinade them in annabell karmels sticky salmon marinade and bake in a small casserole dish

or poach in milk then make into fish pie

LoveMyLapTop · 09/02/2009 20:38

I poach mine in water in a shallow pan with a dashof whit wine if I have some, then serve with pesto sprea on the top
