Meal planning for fussy eater-where do I start?

Have never meal planned, but am getting worried about dd's veg intake so need to give her a proper meal at night (she has school dinners, which are eaten with relish). It seems like such a daunting task-where do I begin?

spag bol is good for hiding veg in. tin of tomatoes, onion, garlic, mushroom, grated carrot, grated parsnip, peppers, celery, aubergine, courgette, spinach. You name it chuck it in.

I do similar with shepherds pie except I don't put the tin of tomatoes I add red 2oz lentils that disappear in and some beef stock.

also pizza can hide a multitude of otherwise rejected veggies.

My oldest doesn't love veggies the way I do, but I try to be flexible about vegetables and how they're eaten - e.g. dd1 doesn't like carrots cooked, but eats raw sticks happily. Like most kids she will eat peas and sweetcorn. Rather weirdly, she will also eat cauliflower.

Also, she doesn't like anything with sauce (which she calls "dirty" - i.e. "I like clean pasta not dirty pasta" so the hiding in a spag bol wouldn't work. I don't think she's very unusual in liking her foods quite separate and identifiable, so she'll sit and eat a cauliflower floret on its own, then a potato and so on. So long as she's eating some good things I don't really care, and don't want her to think it's an ishoo.

Great yours is eating school dinners - that must surely help?

I listed what ds would eat (did not take long) and tried ti include at least 3meals a week he would eat. i then used the other meals for things i want him to eat iyswim

I meal plan and I have two children who don't always enjoy the same food.
Every week we have a couple of meals everyone likes, one new thing and the other meals include at least something for one person.

Eg if we have spinach risotto which DS likes, it is served with ham which DD likes and DS doesn't.
I don't think it matters if she only eats ham, and a piece of bread and fruit at that meal because I know she will eat a balanced diet over the week.

DD LOVES seperate foods. School dinners are going down well, but most days she will have a bowl of cheese and some fruit, so not mega nutritionally balanced. Yes, one of the veggy options at school is a tiny jelly-sized bowl of cheese!

Have every Annabell Karman/Karmel book, and some of those are going down well (Eton mess for pud tomorrow, mmmm!), so will keep trogging through. Thanks guys!
