Help! How do I cook dried soya chunks?

I picked up a large pack in the grocers earlier this week and just realised there are no instructions on how to cook with it. I'd like to make a curry with it tomorrow night for my vegetarian friend, but any other recipes you can suggest would be much appreciated (preferably to serve with rice or potatoes).

Soak them for 30 minutes in hot water plus a bit of soy sauce or stock cube, and then add to your curry sauce. If you add extra water to the sauce you can put them straight in if its going to be cooked for a while, but I never get the proportions quite right

I just witnessed my vegan friend at work just cut them up into diced chunks, fairly small, and pour a big covent garden hot soup over the lot......

2 mins to get back to her desk and then she's eating it.

And it was definitely dried....

Thanks cmotdibbler, won't the stock cube or soya mess up the flavour of the curry sauce? I will soak them in water, do they grow much in size after being in the water? also can they be overcooked?
That sounds like a good thing to try another time, thanks Sycamoretree

If you are going to cook it for a while in the sauce, then no need - it's just that usually I don't have my chunks in anything for very long to pick up extra flavour.

They do grow by maybe a third to a half bigger. Don't think you can over cook them

Many thanks cmotdibbler, I will soak in water and then put them into the sauce and cook for a bit longer.

I see why you use the stock cube or soya, Isuppose it als colours them a but. I soaked some and they are tasteless, I am wondering if I will end up with a rich spicy sauce and taste less pieces of soya. Has anyone else cooked with these dried soya pieces? Maybe I won't do the curry if it isn't the best way of cooking them. Also do you know if once they are rehydrated if they can then be fried?
