Do your 5 year olds drink tea?

was a bit shocked when dd's friend's mum offered me and them a cup of tea. Didn't know how to say 'dd1 doesnt drink tea' without sounding like a prat. She had already given them one earlier apparently and dd1 said she had sugar in hers - cheeky mare, she's never had a cup of tea in her life

i don't drink tea/coffee because i hate the taste and smell and when we were at infants they used to give it us and i dispised it!

my mil thinks i am the most terrible wife ever because i refuse to make DH a cuppa, ever and she takes great delight in seeing DS 2.7s face light up everytime she gives him a milky tea.

i think she thinks i'm un-british or simply wierd not drinking the stuff!

Can't DH make his own tea? Or is it considered a wifely duty by MIL?

RedbinDippers · 11/03/2010 23:49

I only give my grandchildren (5&7) tea when I'm out of cola.

lol @ RedbinDippers

oh yeah it's definately considered a 'wifely duty' by mil!

she also thinks i'm awful for making DH take his turn with the nappies too, but hey I really am just a terrible wife

So glad times have changed. DP never had a problem with nappy changing (and quite right too - they're his sons too). It's a generational thing. MIL is probably jealous that husbands weren't so hands-on in her day.
