Help! Toddler on Fruit Srike and it's wearing me out.

Anyone else experienced this?

DD is nearly 2. She eats pretty well (most veg, chicken, beef/lamb meatballs, some fish, fishfingers, etc.)

BUT - SHE WILL EAT NO FRUIT!
I have always offered fruit as pudding, and she used to eat mashed banana (not solid), tangerines, raw apple chunks, grapes, blueberries, etc.etc.etc.

Now she will only eat melon (?!?) and raspberries.

What's going on? Is this a temporary thing? She just asks for 'puddin' or 'bikkit' and I'm not sure what to do - keep presenting fruit and hope for the best? Seems like a big waste of apple to me.

OR do you go down the 'disguise or puree it' route???

Help. Her stubbornness is very annoying.

More than likely a fad I would have guessed. My lo went through a phase of not eating unless something was accompanied by rice or the meal itself was rice but is now back to eatin normally again

Could be - i hope it is - it's just been going on for so long now - maybe 2/3 months?? Shall i just hang on in there and keep putting in her bowl despite howls of protest?

keep trying, she may decide she wants to try something if you give it to her in a bowl with no pressure that she has to eat it then & there, just try it if she wants to

My 3 year old is a monkey for fruit - not like his DB and DS at all. I make a lot of pies, crumbles, muffins and sneak fruit in that way. I also make fruit and milk lollies which he loves as an occasional treat and I am happy as he is getting the goodness of the fruit.

She'll eat the sweet stuff - dried apricots, raisins, melon - just nothing else now. Grrr.

I don't force her to eat - just place it there and eat some too, making all the 'mmm this is lovely' noises but nothing works. She's not fooled.

My oldest ds, now 9, has never been keen on fruit but he loves smoothies. I dont really worry about it as long as he gets fruit in some form.

Or even milkshakes - put some milk in liquidiser, add a banana and a few berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries etc) and whizz it up. Again, my ds loves this.

lol@mmm this is ovely noises! They're stubborn little things toddlers aren't they!

dried apricots, raisins/melons are ok I would have thought. So long as she eats some kind of fruit then I wouldn't worry & would just let her try something if she wants to.

Pears are quite sweet & soft, would she maybe eat those if you're looking for a bit more variety? or strawberries?

Thanks for all your help - I know she likes smoothies - she devours the Innocent ones but they do seem to give her a sore bottom (maybe that's the opposite - too much fruit!!!) Crumbles she likes too. Maybe I should relax a little.......I just don't want her growing up to be one of those children who won't touch fruit wshen she started off so well!!!

One of my dd's used to get a sore bottom from drinking pure orange juice or any smoothie with it in so I found ones without orange in.
