1 egg
1 cup of flour
1 cup of milk

whisk like mad. Season if you want.
Make sure your fat is smoking hot. Resist all temptation to look into the oven and see how they're getting on.

I always do individual ones rather than one big one.

make one large pudding in a square tin? All ingrediants in bowl and mix, then pour into the tine - which has very vcery hot oil in it. Then bake in the oven.

Thank you.

Will give it a go.

always use plain myself, not sure what s/r would do but I suppose they might puff up a bit more.

NewAmazingBeginning · 18/01/2009 13:36

were they OK, NAB?

NewAmazingBeginning · 18/01/2009 19:00

The didn't look like Yorkshires, and the kids were surprised at the shape, but they tasted fine! Will do for slightly less time next time. Thank you.

Fail safe recipe.

1 ramekin dish (RD) for measurements

1 RD plain flour (self raising will give you flat biscuits for some reason)

1 RD milk

1 RD eggs (usually around 4 to fill dish depending on size of eggs).

Whisk together until smooth.

I use muffin tin for mine and they come out enormous! Make sure fat is v. hot before putting in tin and don't open oven door for at least 20 mins.

My mum swears fresh flour is the key. Aunt Bessie fan myself
