Quinoa - no reason why babies shouldn't have it is there?

just eaten it for the first time and it occurred to me that if it's such a super food I could easily include it in dd's diet. But I know so little about it, it's good for babies too isn't it?

Some Stage 1 food in the shops contain Quinoa (the Plum range definitely does) so I guess it must be OK. DD really likes it.

yep it's a good cereal-type food from 6-7 months, especially as it contains no gluten. My DS had quinoa porridge with blueberries as his breakfast after he had a reaction to oats

If you're buying the raw quinoa which you have to cook - ie its not already in a baby meal, then I have read that it should be rinsed well before cooking. Apparently it contains trace amounts of arsenic. Can't help thinking that it would have to have a health warning if this was in any amount that could have an effect but I always rinse mine well - and have included it in food for my 2 when babies.

second the post about rinsing it - there's a few old threads about the importance of this iirc.
