White Cabbage - what shall I do with it?

I made coleslaw but other than boiling it (bleurgh) I don't know what to do with the rest of it. I can't face any more coleslaw.

Any suggestions?

Fry some bacon or pancetta. If you are using bacon chop it up. Put the cabbage in boiling water and boil for a couple of minutes and then chuck it in with the cooked bacon and stir it around. Yummy.

Abel and Cole have some interesting cabbage recipes.

Boil it very lightly, cool it - then make a salad with shredded chicken breast, tomatoes, and a sesame-mayo dressing.

Creme fraiche and tarragon - it's the only way I'll eat cabbage!

Slice it thinly and boil in salted water for about 3-4 minutes.

Drain. Whilst it's draining, heat up some butter and olive oil in the pan you cooked it in, and gently fry a thinly sliced onion, seasoned with lots of black pepper.

When the onion is softened and has turned opaque, tip the cabbage back into the pan and stir to get it covered with the buttery oil.

Squeeze in the juice of a lemon. Cover pan, then turn the heat down to its lowest and stew gently for at least 10 minutes - 20 is even better!

Slice and boil for 3-4 minutes, drain and put into a shallow baking dish.

Fry a sliced onion and some garlic (however much you like) and when softened, add a tin of chopped tomatoes. Season with salt, black pepper and oregano. Cook for about 5 minutes then tip over the top of the cabbage, and stir through.

Cover the top with grated cheese and bake in the oven till the cheese is melted and golden brown.

My MIL makes a Greek dish like 'dolmades' but using cabbage instead of vine leaves.

You boil the cabbage then you put in each leave some rice and herbs (she puts mince meat too) you roll them up like dolmades and cook in the pan with some water.

When its ready she adds a lemon and egg sauce (augolemono)

The dish is called 'lahanodolmades'if you want to google it
