Pre DD I lost 1.5 stone on this diet in 3 months....but post DD it didn't seem to work so well (apparently it doesn't second time out). Am just starting it again today, however, with fingers crossed that I can shift the same amount again....

yes, it works if you do it prooperly.
It is no carb so it will work.
But you have to do it according to the rules - it is not just loads of fat and protein , you have to do your salad and veggies and water and excercise.

I lost weight very quickly. But if you cheat you will put weight straight back on.

My DH does it and loves it. He doesn't like sweet stuff and so it suits him well.

( it is also the only time I have ever lost my cellulite !!!)

I am doing it now with excercise and feeling fab

Great, so will it work long term? Is the theory that you retrain yourself so you just carry on for ever eating minimal carbs?

The idea is that once you get comfortable with how you are , you gradully reintroduce carbs ( as unprocessed as possible) and just find the level at which you can maintain a healthy weight.
It is really easy to fall off the wagon when you re-introduce but the less processed they are then the less you trigger cravings.

I lost 1.5 stone on this diet really easily while I was on maternity leave, and felt great. Then I went back to work and couldn't find the time / energy / motivation to do my own lunches every day as well as my daughter's 3 meals, and am almost back where I started. Am planning to do it again soon. Really recommend it.

So, in a nutshell, what is the diet? I've never heard of it before.

pagwatch · 12/01/2009 14:06

It is Atkins 'light' - with gradually increasing excercise

Hobnobfanatic · 12/01/2009 14:09

I'll give it a go. Trouble is, carbs are my favourite food group. A life without bread and totties is a tough call : (

It's low carb, but with some added (gentle) exercise, some helpful advice on how to approach losing weight, and a massively supportive web forum

usedtoreadbooks · 12/01/2009 14:11

oh, and with allowances for booze and chocolate
