errr - cover them with home-made breadcrumbs?

moondog · 09/01/2009 21:58

Slice thinly and stirfry with some veggies.
Or kebabs
Or curry

girlandboy · 09/01/2009 21:59

Stuff them with a couple of slices of cheese and then wrap in bacon.

harpsichordcarrier · 09/01/2009 21:59

A jar of curry sauce and some rice.

moondog · 09/01/2009 22:05

Vom to jar of curry sauce

Haven't you got some rice and tired veggies about the place?

Tillyscoutsmum · 09/01/2009 22:06

Chicken Fajitas

Goober · 09/01/2009 22:07

What's wrong with a LLoyd Grossman Thai sauce moondog?

moondog · 09/01/2009 22:08

Fucking vile, stuff like that.
What's wrong with making your own?
Takes all of 5 minutes.

onepieceofbrusselssprout · 09/01/2009 22:08

I used to buy jars of sauce, never really liked them. I now buy curry paste, which although isn't as good as grinding the spices yourself, is a big improvement on the jars (imo, obviously).

Also cheaper.

moondog · 09/01/2009 22:09

Nowt wrong with a curry paste.

Habbibu · 09/01/2009 22:09

List the contents of your fridge and cupboard, and then we can help. Or just be nosy.

girlandboy · 09/01/2009 22:09

moondog - how do you make your own curry sauce?

moondog · 09/01/2009 22:12

For a Thai?

Fry, garlic, onions, chillies and (if available) galangal. Add meat, then add some fish sauce, lime juice, coconut milk, brown sugar and rest of veggies.

Or else get a good Thai paste.Plenty about.Cook in sauces full of vile thickeners and stabilisers.

fishie · 09/01/2009 22:12

hit them out very flat. dip into flour egg and breadcrumb. put some parmesan spice (cayenne?) or something in the crumb. fry and eat with lettuce mayonnaise and lemon.

sod off md there is nothing more lovely and foodie than this.

BigGitGotLovelySoftHandsDad · 09/01/2009 22:12

chicken kebabs on a skewer with tomatos, onions, peppers etc on a bed of rice. Marinate the chicken pieces too.

girlandboy · 09/01/2009 22:13

Thanks moondog. Appreciated.

BigGitGotLovelySoftHandsDad · 09/01/2009 22:13

failing that give it to the dog/cat. (Delete as appropriate)

fishie · 09/01/2009 22:14

unsod with your thai of course.

moondog · 09/01/2009 22:15

No Fishie, that sounds nice.
I don't like the way fried food lingers in air though and throws patina of grease over all.

onepieceofbrusselssprout · 09/01/2009 22:15

The thai curry paste is hotter than it looks. I think that the green in particular looks all pastelly and pretty in the jar. 2 tiny teaspoons and we were panting for breath it was rather warm.

tootiredtothink · 09/01/2009 22:15

I made this today and it was to die for coq au riesling.

Although I do usually do it with thighs the breasts were cheaper so a good substitute.

biskybat · 09/01/2009 22:18

sorry to be dim, but what is a chicken breast steak? Is it chopped reformed chicken in an amusing shape? Have only seen turkey breast steaks before or chicken things already covered with breadcrumbs

I am obviously bored to be curious on this subject, perhaps had better go to bed...

harpsichordcarrier · 10/01/2009 08:06

it is like a chicken minute steak. a breast fillet sliced thin.
I know: pointless. I think they must have been on special offer
