What to do with tofu?

I foolishly chucked a packet of tofu in the shopping basket after DH and I decided to have a vegetarian January. (We figured we couldn't keep entirely off the booze so cutting out meat was the next best thing...) Anyway, I've got no idea what to do with it and it's making me feel guilty every time I open the fridge. Any (easy) recipe suggestions for tofu novices?

DC's favourite food is tofu. Here's a veggie nasi goreng recipe:

Nasi Goreng:

Groundnut oil
One onion, chopped
Pack of tofu, chopped into approx 1cm cubes
2 cloves garlic chopped/crushed
1 red chilli finely chopped
Half a bunch of spring onions, sliced
1 cup of (uncooked) thai rice
soy sauce to taste (I use quite a bit, approx 2-3 tbs...maybe more?)
1 fried egg per person

Start boiling the rice.
Fry onion in oil until it starts to soften. Add garlic, chilli and tofu. Fry until tofu is golden.
Add spring onions, drained rice and soy sauce. Heat through.

Serve it topped with a fried egg.

Can also give you a Satay Tofu recipe if you're interested.

Or thai red curry. It;s important IMO to get the outside nicely fried, otherwise it's a bit slippery.

The DCs will happily eat it raw. Bleurgh.

What's the pointing like on the outside of your house?

Drain the water off and press it dry. Slice it about 3-5mm thick, fry it in oil. WHile it's frying sprinkle each slice with salt, pepper and garlic powder or minced garlic. When it's golden and a bit crispy put the tofu to one side, wipe the pan. Fry some sliced onion and pepper until soft. Add the tofu, sprinkle with paprika and add about 1/2 pint of stock. Let it simmer for 10 mins. Remove from the heat, stir in natural yogurt, sour cream, or cream. Whatever you have handy. Put back on a low heat just to warm through.

Serve with potatoes, rice or buttered pasta.
