What is a portion of fruit for a 15mo?

My DS is a keen eater of fruit and veg. If I did not limit his portion size he would pretty much whatever he could, I reckon. I am delighted about this, but wary of giving him too much in case he gets an upset tummy (especially acidic fruit, obviously). I was wondering how much everyone considered a portion size? Half an orange/ apple? 1 carrot?

I would be more keen just to try stuff out but he won't pooh lying down (!) so if he needs a pooh in the night he will wake up screaming and refuse to lie down in his bed til the morning, seemingly also unable to pooh until fully dressed! So I would like to keep his bowel movements regular if at all possible!

TIA

same as adults
ie as much as he could hold in two cupped hands

dd (16m) is passionate about satsumas but more than 3 a day is a recipe for disaster... I find giving her a whole (peeled) one means it takes her longer to eat so she doesn;t scoff at speed then demand another one

I think a portion is meant to be the same size as the child's fist.

Me too bodiddly I think a potion is the size of a childs handful.

My DD eats a lot of fruit as well....in a typical day she'll eat a small banana after her weetabix, a whole kiwi / pear at lunch and a satsuma (whole segments) at tea....she often stops eating her dessert to demand more fruit out of the bowl .

oh sorry, I was thinking of peas (for some reason), where a double handful would be the size of her fist...

Ok, that makes sense. I think I have been generous with peas and a bit tight with satsumas! Thanks.
