Since I enjoy baking I thought I might get my lo involved, does anyone think it's a bit young or would she be ok with stuff like icing cakes

I couldnt do that Nemo because of the dog, she's a food obssesed hound who would scoff the lot within the blink of an eye!

I pmsl at th get her doing the chores suggestion, she is already able to load to washer and put it on the right cycle, load the dryer if it's needed and put it on for the right time and helps washing plastic pots & loves mopping for some strange reason so we're sorted in that department.

I have a little table and chairs lurking somewhere still packed from moving so will root those out and get her helping me weigh and mix since so many of you have little ones helping you in the kithen.

Thanks for your opinions

I have a small kitchen so dd sat on the worktop (first in a bumbo then just sat) and now she's big enough she stands on a chair. I get her to sprinkle cheese on pasta bakes/raisins in baking, she has a plastic knife and passes me carrots when I'm making the dinner, I chop potatoes and pass them to her to put in the pan and she likes pressing the button on the blender or mixing things in a bowl/pan - nothing I couldn't do twice as fast myself but she enjoys it!

My 19mo loves to sit on the work surface and help. Otherwise we spread a big piece of vinyl on the floor and sit down to prepare things. She's very well versed. In a morning she gets out a saucepan, wooden spoon, oats, milk and sugar and shouts 'mummy hot bit now'. She can chop things with a plastic spoon and is good at stirring/spooning mixtures and setting up the scales.
