Mine's always too runny however hard I try. I'm making stained glass biscuits for my mum and my dad's girlfriend and I want to jazz them up a bit. TIA

yes - little tubes of supercook icing in 4 colours in a box - called writing icing I think. can also get larger tubes of icing in a single colour - from larger supermarkets.

Oh excellent thanks. I'll be going to the big asda tomorrow so hopefully they'll have some. Suppose it'll be in the baking aisle. Yay!

if you don't find any you could make your own royal icing (use royal icing sugar - it has dried egg white in), but don't beat it for as long as it syas on the side of the pack otherwise it will be too stiff to pipe. Royal icing is always thicker than glace.

enjoy!

In my experience the larger tubes work a lot better; they come with about 4 interchangeable nozzles for different effects eg ribbons, rosette. Personally I've never had any luck with the little tubes of 'writing icing'; it just comes out in squiggles and I can't manage a straight line with it.

Just seen this, thanks I got one of the larger tubes so that's good, the little ones weren't in colours I wanted. Hopefully my biccies will look good.
