As for self, think one of my slowly diminishing but precious staff of tins of caviar from Mr Moondog's recent extended period in former USSR, followed by gresh Lleyn crab on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Day, will risk a goose reared by friend. Trifle to follw.

New Year's Eve will be with friends. My contribution will be Margeritas. Delicious but lethal. Hazy on other detail and booze as yet.

Just finished cooking the raised pork pies for breakfast on Xmas day. Made two this year - each 20cm in diameter. We eat these with scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and bucks fizz for breakfast.

Lunch is one of the bird in bird roasts with potatoes, parsnips, something green from the allotment, bread sauce, re-warmed roast ham/gammon from Xmas eve, chippolatas, two sorts of stuffing, gravy, wine.....and then Xmas pudding for desserts - the pudding was made by my aunt last Jan. We then also have mince pies, hard sauce (a weird family recipe not brandy butter) and a fruit salad. And then cheese and biscuits and port to fill any remaining gaps.

I made the Xmas cake before DS was born at the beginning of August - and have been feeding it with brandy ever since. Got the marzipan on last week and got to ice it tomorrow....

Hopefully we'll then be eating left overs for the next few meals!!!

Wow! - sounds like you deserve to be!

I am working strange shifts over Christmas itself, so we are having two "official" Christmas meals on random days next week.

My mum has found a duck breast recipe from the Christmas "Good Food" magazine that she wants me to make - there are only going to be the two of us so will give it a try. It is supposed to make its own gravy as you roast it - not very familiar with cooking duck but sounds good! With my usual to-die-for roasties, and sauteed leeks, steamed carrots and broccoli. Will be followed by mini meringues with hot chocolate fudge sauce.

I love roast chicken, have got a local free range one, cooked with lemon, bacon and garlic, roast pots and mashed vegetables. The leftovers will be made into a pie with leeks and bacon, or maybe even quiche, and I usually get a good 1.5L homemade stock out of the bones. Will make mincemeat tart - have bought the mincemeat, sorry, but the pastry is very short and homemade. With cream (from a local farm, mmmm).

This was a good thread, we some yummy ideas.

I like your breakfast and lunch options for Christmas Day. Am gestating this year so mine will be more like
