Curry for lunch?

We have a whole raft of family coming on Saturday 27th for a get together (aunties, cousins & the like) and to exchange presents.

In a desperate attempt not to produce yet another reworking of Christmas dinner, I had intended to do a few big Indian-ish dishes, e.g. there's a lamb & spinach curry that's gone down well with other people, plus a vegetable & rice curried thing with toasted cashews on top, pile of samosas, pile of nan bread, dishes of raita and chutney etc. Thought it would be a nice evening with a plate of curry, few drinks etc.

Only now it turns out they're coming for lunch not dinner - do you think this menu is still OK?

And if you could think of any appropriate puddings too, then I'd be overjoyed!

Mmmmm yummy! Definitely ok IMO.

How about kulfi for pudding?

yes it's fine for lunch, it sounds delicious - please can I come?

Of course, sounds lovely. You do realise that people will be searching for the turkey in their curry though, convinced that the reason you have made curry is to disguise it?

sounds ace to me. Mind you I would eat curry for breakfast so not the most discerning of guest

I would keep the pudding simple - greek yoghurt with honey and fresh berries (or make a trifle)

Oh yes, sounds lovely. And a good thing is people can eat as much or as little as they like.

I'd serve cashew and pistachio icecream with an espresso poured over it as dessert, and maybe a big fruit salad.

hurray! people will like my lunch!

(and thanks for great pudding ideas. Have also just remembered that there's an Indian grocery shop just down the road so will go and look for exotic icecreamy things!)

I'm doing the same for lunch on New Year's Day. You'll be fine. For pud, I'm offering fresh fruit and a chocolate fountain - hassle free!
