prob yes, but you shouldn't - at least not with traditional mulled wine spices. Would taste vile. Flavours wouldn't mesh.

White wine needs to be cold too. Warm would be wrong.

I know it's usually done with red but I am sure I have seen it in Germany. My mother said it was vile!

You could do a hot cider thing, though.

Or MIL & I experimented with Winter Pimms & hot apple juice a few years ago. Not a great success tbh...

Not very helpful but I'm pretty sure you can, don't know how tho! We had some from M&S a couple of years ago for a change and it was good.

WHen I was in Lille a couple of weeks ago at the christmas market they did red and white mulled/hot wine. I didn't try the white but a friend did and she wasn't terribly impressed. No idea what they used in it though.

Here is a recipe

Ingredients
1/2 lemon (about 2 in. wide)
1/2 orange (about 2 1/2 in. wide)
4 kumquats (each about 1 in. long)
2 tablespoons honey
1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar
6 whole cloves
6 whole allspice
2 cinnamon sticks (each 3 in. long)
2 bottles (750 ml. each) dry white wine such as Pinot Grigio, Soave, or Sauvignon Blanc (see notes)
Preparation

  1. Rinse lemon, orange, and kumquats and thinly slice them, discarding seeds; quarter the orange slices. Put fruit in a 4- to 5-quart pan. Add honey, sugar (use the smaller amount if you prefer drinks on the tart side, the larger if you want a sweeter flavor), cloves, and allspice. With a knife, cut the cinnamon sticks lengthwise into thinner strips. Add cinnamon and 2 cups water to pan; bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat and boil gently for 5 minutes.
  1. Pour wine into hot citrus base (see notes) and heat until steaming, about 8 minutes. Keep warm over low heat. Ladle into heatproof cups or wineglasses

I had some at a German event. Not sure how authentic it was. I am sure someone said it was (apologise for the spelling so I sall say it phonetically) 'Glue vine'.

Yes of course you can! Don't listen to all these people who've never done it. You can also cook with it in most of the ways you can with red (coq au Riesling, pears in white wine).
My favourite is mulled cider, though. (We did that once for an Xmas party when I was a student and made a massive alcohol profit - everyone brought wine but drank the lovely cider.)

really can't imagine why you would want to!

I think if you were going to it'd have to be quite citrussy and cinnamon but not so much with cloves or ginger.

I want to mull some cider, have some really nice cider I got from a farmers market which I think would be great mulled. Kathy, do you have a recipe?

Mulled Cider is DELICIOUS. Oh and really cheap to make as you get TONS out of a two litre bottle.

Chops - yes, your posh farmer's market cider would be great mulled, though it's traditionally a good way to make cheapish cider drinkable so personally I would drink the nice cider straight!
I don't have a recipe, just do it by instinct, but from what I remember I used ginger, cloves and cinnamon, perhaps a clove-stuck lemon rather than orange? And sugar to taste.

I did it! Using the recipe CoV & Charlee suggested (minus the kumquats) and it's perfectly drinkable. I'd always make red but in it's absence this will do!
