Homemade bread

Does anyone have any easy to make home made bread recipes?
OR
Does anyone know which of the shop bought bread has the least amount of salt (from looking at ingredients, they all seem to have half a gram per slice, but I wondered if anyone knew in any more detail).
Thanks muchly!

It's really easy - I do it all the time (with no breadmaker, though I do use a kenwood to knead - but no reason why you can't do it by hand, just takes longer).
Put about 275 ml warm water in a bowl. Add 500 g strong flour; a packet of dried yeast; 1 tsp salt; 1 tsp caster sugar (and any seeds or things you fancy). Mix it up: add more water if it seems dry. Knead for about 5-10 minutes; put back in bowl and cover with a teatowel and leave until it has doubled in size (about an hour somewhere warm but I have no airing cupboard so just leave it on the side for a couple of hours). Tip out, knead another minute. Shape into loaf, leave to rise again - what I do at this stage is usually put on the bottom oven at 200C and put it on the open door of my top oven so it is warm but not hot. About half an hour. Put in oven at 200 for 20 minutes; it is done when you rap on the bottom and it sounds hollow.

If you sign up to freecycle you might find a free breadmaker there. Well worth it, just filling my trusty panasonic right now.

Or keep an eye on what's on in Lidl or Aldi - they occasionally do good value breadmakers. It's definitely worth it if you're low on time but want your own bread.

I have frequently accidently left the salt out of the mix when making dough in the breadmaker. It still rises and, especially if you put seeds and nut in, is not very noticable.
