Toddler Eating problems and very windy botty! help!

God, where to start? Sorry it's long.
DS is 14months. Has always suffered from wind (bottom type) especially at night. He wakes writhing and screaming in agony. I stopped giving him cheese in the afternoon and this seemed to help a lot. Also, lots of other things seem to make it really bad, e.g. bananas and bread. Also, lots of veg like cauli and broccoli and leeks. Even if I eat these he still suffers via my breastmilk!
I'm really at my wits' end as he's now started being really fussy about what I do give him and not eating much at all. I want to give him more things he can feed himself, but so many things seem to be off limits.
Occasionally, i wonder whether I'm mad and it's just coincidence and caused by something else?
Would the doctor take me seriously if i took him? Worried they will just think I'm neurotic!
Help and advice welcome!
thanks

I think you should expect your doctor to take you seriously- wind may be a sign of food intolerance, and is worth pursuing IMO.

As for fussy eating, funnily enough my DS of 14mo has just got very fussy too! Sadly, he has also self weaned so I've started getting the jitters! BUT, he has had phases like this before and always ends up stuffing his face just when I least expect it. Is your DS teething? That often causes reluctance to eat...

Do you need ideas for food? Er... my DS will eat virtually anything in an omelette and that's something he can eat himself. You could try looking on the recipe section on MN, I've got loads of good ideas off there. My DS will eat spag bol and lamb burgers til the cows come home! Does he like oatcakes?

Ok, well I feel like that's a rubbish reply, and not very thought through (sorry) but hopefully it's better than nothing.

Thanks for your reply, not rubbish at all!
Yes, he is teething, and sometimes I think maybe it is just that and not what he eats at all! He's just got his first molar. Will def try oatcakes. Just tried to give him scrambled eggs, but no go!
Thanks, I will take him to the docs.
