How do I stop my dd being a fussy eater?

DD is 20 months old and has been an okay eater untill recently.

She had a viral infection and stopped eating for 5 days. I still offered her meals at the regular times but I started to get a bit desperate after a few days and was offering her one thing after the other in the hope she would eat something.

She is now much better and after a few days of eating like a piggy to make up for what she missed, she has started being fussy.

For example, this evening I made her pita pizza's, a treat and a real favourite. She took a few bites then went into the kitchen and pointed at her food cupboard, shouting "puddy". I made her some soup instead, again a few mouthfulls then she went and got a yoghart out the fridge. She ate all the yoghart and shouted for more.

I don't want her to become a fussy eater and only eat "puddy".

Advice please????

Ah you've fallen into a trap that the little ones set for you. Stop the pudding for a while. Put up with the noise and don't given in, only cook what she used to have, as you know she used to eat it. Say to your self 'she doesn't live in a war zone and will not starve' over and over. It happened to me again a few months where I fell into a trap of bribing DS to do what I asked instead of tell him off. I then woke up and went back to square one. All back on track. You know what's good for her to stick to your guns even if it hurts your ears.

Thanks, I didn't want to say "thats it as there's nothing else" because my parents did that and I remember thinking it was very cruel of them. But I'm glad someone else suggested it , I really don't want a fussy eater.

Thanks
