6oz sugar and same amount of butter creamed together (in mixer is easy), add one egg and 12 oz sr flour with cinnamon/mixed spice. Add a little milk to make stiff dough. Roll out and cut into biscuits. Cook unti; golden brown at approx 195C, cover when cool with best quality icing chocolate/plain chocolate

Chocolate brownies

6oz butter or margarine
2oz cocoa
6oz brown sugar (have used anything in cupboard)
2 eggs
2oz self raising flour
2 sultanas

Melt butter and sugar in a saucepan, add the cocoa and stir. Now take of the heat and add two beaten eggs, the flour and sultanas.

Place the mixture in a greased 7? by 7? tin and bake for 40-50 mins on gas mark 4

Another one

A 7 or 8 inch square tin lined with greaseproof paper/baking parchment and the oven set to 180/GM4 moderate oven

A small saucepan in to which you put 150g butter 150g chocolate, at least half of it should be plain

On a low heat and let it melt together and leave it to cool slightly

Then beat together in a bowl 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract 175g caster sugar Until creamy looking

Then sift in 100g plain flour 1 big tablespoon of drinking chocolate And a quarter of a teaspoon of salt Throw in 100g walnuts Add the chocolate and butter and mix well.

Scrape it into the lined tin and bake it for 20 minutes.

Then have a look at it, the top should be pale and cracking slightly, like a dried up muddy puddle, the body of the mix will still be slightly wobbly.

If it isn?t like this then leave it in for another 3 minutes. Leave to cool in the tin and then slice into portions DO NOT take it in to the bathroom and scoff the lot"

Chocolate chip cookies

150g SR flour
50g margarine
50g sugar
50g chocolate chips
1 egg
1 ? 2 tbsp water

Method
Carefully weigh/measure flour into bowl. (6-rounded tbsp is about right).
Weigh margarine and add to bowl. Rub in as shown.
Stir in the sugar and chocolate chips.
Break egg into a small bowl and beat with a fork.
Add to mixture with just enough water to mix to a soft but not sticky dough.
Divide into 8 even sized pieces and place in rough heaps onto tray.

Bake Gas 6, electric 190*C for 12 ? 15 minutes until golden brown.

The secret is to make two batches whilst you have all the stuff out. Cook the first batch and the second batch place in the fridge uncooked until you want to cook them later in the week
