Feel really low at the moment.

They had roast dinner at ILs, so don't need another big meal.

Ideas greatfully accepted. tia.

cheese sarnies as a one off not a prob - something like eggy bread if you're feeling more like they should have something hot. I only do one 'proper' cooked meal a day.

devoutsceptic · 07/12/2008 16:24

cheese on toast. Sandwiches and fruit. microwaved baked potato and beans/cheese.
How old are they?

thenewme · 07/12/2008 16:25

3 5 7

I am going to get Dh to feed them when he has finished ironing. I think he knows I am at a low point.

Overmydeadstuffedturkey · 07/12/2008 16:25

cheese on toast

beans on toast

boiled eggs and soilders

peanut butter and banana sandwiches

crudites, olives, peppers, carrots, humous etc just bunged in front of them?

Sorry you're feeling low

eandh · 07/12/2008 16:26

mine at roast at il's at 1.30 so they'll either have porridge or egg and toast etc about 5

Overmydeadstuffedturkey · 07/12/2008 16:26

Got anything lurking in the freezer that you can bung in the oven etc?

Pasta and pesto?

Overmydeadstuffedturkey · 07/12/2008 16:27

oh yes porridge is a good idea

or semolina?

thenewme · 07/12/2008 16:27

When can kids have peanut butter? We have avoided nuts as hubby and I have asthma and hayfever but I know peanut butter is good for them. Having said that I could only get crunchy today and would worry about the 3 year old choking.

Sandwiches / toast with something.

Beans on toast, cheese on toast, eggy bread, cheese/ham sandwiches are my 'cannot be arsed' tea time staples.

i often con DS into thinking I am the world;s greatest mum by serving up sandwiches, fruit and something treat-ful like biccies on a paper plate and calling it a 'picnic party'

SilentMNight · 07/12/2008 16:31

cheese and biscuits, breakfast cereal?

Overmydeadstuffedturkey · 07/12/2008 16:33

peanut butter fine from a year I'd say, if there is no history of nut allergy in the family.

It's a great nutritious food, and you can buy smooth peanut butter if you're worried about chocking

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 16:34

What about just putting some pasta on? Like you say, they've already had a big meal so shouldn't need anything too big.
I mix in a bit of grated cheese and some tom puree, maybe some peas and sweatcorn from freezer.

thenewme · 07/12/2008 16:35

DD won't wat pasta or tomatoes.

Still haven't fed them.

Mine do really well with a bowl of soup, and a big pile of buttered toast. (I have a 21month old and a 9 year old and both seem very happy!)

Overmydeadstuffedturkey · 07/12/2008 16:39

how about cereal?

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 16:39

Toast fingers?
What have you got in the fridge, can you do some cold salad or something?

Overmydeadstuffedturkey · 07/12/2008 16:39

What have you got?

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 16:41

I can't really be bothered either so have put some turkey drummers and potato waffles in the oven, that'll do.....

thenewme · 07/12/2008 16:45

They are having spaghetti hoops on toast.

Thanks all.
