Help! 10 1/2 month old is refusing to eat much!

My DS has been a great little eater since he was weaned at 6 months. I have been following Annabel Karmel's weaning plan and until a few weeks ago he'd eat anything and everything I served him. Now he is getting fussier and fussier. Even the fail safe foods which he would always eat are not tempting him. Admittedly he has just recovered from a cold and is teething but I am getting worried that he is not eating enough. He is my 1st child so I have no prior experience and would welcome any advice. Thanks!

My ds always goes off food when teething, especially mashed or wet food. When I started weaning I did Annabel Karmel to but found he much prefered to feed himself and he went off anything that couldn't be done on his own. Have you tried finger foods etc? Is your ds still having plenty of milk because they get most of their nourishment from that for the first year. Mine stopped drinking milk at 7months so had to find food for him, but if yours is still drinking plenty, I wouldn't worry too much, give it a few more days to fully recover from cold and teething and see what happens then

Same as LBB. My 10 month old isn't eating well either, she's on finger foods now but seems to have no appetite. However she does have a cold and is teething. She's feeding (bf) alot more to make up for it. I'm trying not to get too stressed!

Thanks littleboyblue he?s quite good with finger food but is just chucking it back over the highchair at the moment. He loves mandarin oranges and that is the only food that excites him. He is still drinking a couple of bottles of milk a day so I guess I am covered on the milk front.

That sounds ok then. Like I said, my ds refused to drink milk after he'd had a taste of proper food so was quite difficult to make sure he was having enough.
Food at this oint is supposed to be fun so throwing it around is perfectly normal, plus he's learning about gravity and stuff.
