Suggestions for reasonably healthy ready-food please...

I am due with DC2 on 22nd December, and despite my best intentions to fill the freezer with delicious home made food for when I am too tired to cook, I have only got a few meals that are suitable for DH and me (loads of meals for DS in case we decide to have a takeaway though).

So I am looking for food I can buy from Tesco that is ready made but not too unhealthy. We are vegetarian and I normally cook from scratch so I don't have much experience of the ready meal market, what tastes good and what is foul etc. Money is no object, just this once! We are not fussy eaters. If it was food that is also suitable for a 2.3 year old - and dairy free - that would be a bonus.

I would be v grateful for any suggestions

You could order some stuff from Cook instead?

Actually that looks really good, thanks. I'd not heard of that company before.

Does it have to be Tesco if money no object?
M&S stuff has no additives, GM, and loads of variety for pre-prepared meals etc but it is much harder with veggie stuff- much less variety of course.
Also- have you seen the microwave bags of rice? Come in packs of 6, or in 4s with veggies too- we had loads of those last time. They do steam veg too- birds eye or supermarket own brand.
Frozen veggies come in all varieties, and are quick to cook in microwave, though you do have to pop them into pots to cook... though you can get (from Lakeland) steam bags- which work like the bought steam microwave veggies, but you can fill with your own combinations of food.

You still have a while to cook too- can DH do some?

Cauliflower cheese
Stew of all description
ditto casseroles
Chilli
Cheese sauce for pasta
tomato sauce for pasta
soups
Veggie bolognese

Do you eat fish? they also do those steam portions of fish (birds eye I think)

Do M&S deliver then? I am not going to any shops...I object to having to queue at the Wide Aisle

I was only thinking of Tesco because that is where I do my monthly online shop anyway, so I wouldn't be paying extra for the delivery and I wouldn't have to register for anywhere new. But really there is no reason not to try somewhere new, especially if the food is much better.

We don't eat fish and have never tried microwave rice but I have heard good things of it. It's only because I am such a skinflint normally that we have never had it.

DH can't cook as he is a primary teacher and it is mad mad mad at the moment with school play, book marking, finishing the term's work and generally getting ready for his paternity leave. He is working until 11pm every night as it is. If I go overdue he will be able to do a bit though. I can't cook extra because I am too shattered - barely managing to cook a healthy meal every night. I underestimated how much harder this stage is with a toddler to look after.

Thanks for the suggestions - I am wishing I already had some of it in the freezer instead of having to go into the kitchen now and make dinner!
