Making biscuits for Christmas pressies - how long do yours last? Wondering how early I can make them....

Thinking of making some shortbread or ginger biscuits with DD as Christmas pressies for family but just wondering how long they will last.

Any kind of baked goods last about a day in our house before getting eaten so I have never had to think about a 'best before' date!!

Is making them this week too early for Christmas do you think? What should I wrap them in to keep better (not dry up or go soggy), something like cling film or something else? Do certain kinds of home-made biscuit last longer than others?

Any tips appreciated, thanks.

I would bake them as late as possible - but that is because the recipe I use tastes great for a few days but only good for the next few.

Christmas Day is a Thursday make up the biscuit mix and leave it in the fridge waiting to be cooked on the Tuesday. The biscuit mix can be made up in advance.

You can make the mixture, roll them into the individual balls then freeze them. Then stick'em in the oven the day before you need to give them, so you can sort of tick it off your list!

just to let you know.. although not biscuits.. you can also make up mince pies .. leave uncooked.. freeze in tin.. knock out of tin and bag up ,to keep in freezer for ready to bakes!!
