Ok, am feeling totally brain dead and knackered, so excuse the dumb arse requesr, but...

I'd be grateful for ideas for healthy, filling, tasty and quick snacks and light meals I can eat while caring for a 3 yr old and a newborn baby...and feeding on demand...and recovering g from a c-section

I seem to be living on toast, cereal and tea & biccies at the moment, and the only proper meal I eat is the dinner that DH cooks when he gets in (bless him!).

Healthy stuff would be good. I'm not trying to lose weight yet, obviously, but I can't keep eating 10 cookies in a row

All ideas gratefully received

Ta x

does your dh take sandwiches to work? if so get him to make extra for you and put them in the fridge

Is cereal that bad or are you just bored of it?
Can you get a few of those tubs of fresh soup?
(On offer in sains at the mo )

Can dh make you a sandwich before he leaves in the morning?

I also had load of cereal and biscuits - apart from that I lived on oatcakes and cheese and chopped up raw veg/fruit. Either dh or I would do some chopping in the evening and put veg in a tub in the fridge for next day. Nice dipped in houmous - dd got a lot of houmous dripped on her while bf.

OK, sandwiches, veg in a tub, fresh soup - all great ideas. Thanks!

I'm a bit bored of cereal, yeh . I'm also getting bored of bread...

i never get bored of biscuits, though. Funny that

DP used to make a sandwich for me in the morning/night before and leave it in the fridge (or I would do it in the evening once things started getting a bit "straighter"). Otherwise soup and bread roll was good.
Granola bars/flapjacks are great "one handed" food as well (as are scotch eggs, I seem to recall )

Beans on toast (or on baked potato). Omelette.

StealthPolarBear · 18/11/2008 19:45

wow PAL that's what i consider a decent meal on a normal day
I'm no masterchef

houmous and pitta bread used to do the trick for me

Also slices of cheese and apple were also good.
