It isn't good when you put the breadmaker on to make pizza dough, take DD to the park and come home to find...

The dough pressing against the breadmaker window, is it? Oops! Do you think it'll survive?

It's ALIVE!

It MOVES!

It's GOING TO GET* YOU.....

Sorry. Too much unsupervised access to films in the late '70s.

CharCharGabor · 16/11/2008 15:25

Roffle That is what it looked like though. It had actually lifted the lid of the breadmaker It's a bit sticky but I'm going to try and use it anyway. I've tried to make pizza dough 3 times now and it's always sticky and unusable! Grrrr

was it like Sleeper, with Woody Allen smacking the shit out of the mahoosive cake

love that film

Scootergrrrl · 16/11/2008 15:27

Do you think you're putting too much flour or yeast in for it to be taking over the kitchen?

snigger · 16/11/2008 15:28

That's a BIG chicken....

grouchyoscar · 16/11/2008 15:28

Just put it in a bowl, mix some more flour in and see if it gets less sticky...works for me.

CharCharGabor · 16/11/2008 15:33

I think I put too much of everything in there! Have added some more flour and it's less sticky but still not great. Ah well...

I bet it will taste fine.

I always add a bit of extra flour to mine.

barking · 16/11/2008 16:03

I had the same problem last week, I would reduce the water or add more flour for the next batch, then leave it to prove for 20-30mins.

barking · 16/11/2008 16:05

Also have you got some pizza cooking pans to cook then with? I highly recommend the ones with holes - the pizza comes out nice and crisp underneath

grouchyoscar · 16/11/2008 17:03

an extra 1 oz flour in the mix help a hell of a lot

CharCharGabor · 16/11/2008 18:10

Well it worked out Was a bit stressful trying to roll it out but once that was done it turned out lovely. Shame I couldn't taste it as I've just got a cold

My pizza dough is always really sticky. Doesn't seem to cause too many problems once I can extract it from the pan and get it rolled out, like you say.

Brilliant idea about the pizza pans. Home made pizza is one of our absolute favourite things, but I can't stand soggy crusts...where do you buy yours from, barking?

barking · 17/11/2008 12:48

I got mine from a local department store (I'm in south west), I would try maybe lakeland or amazon. I'm not sure what they are called.... just had a look and there is no name.
I would highly recommend them as my pizza's were very soggy before

mrsflowerpot · 17/11/2008 12:49

Lakeland have them - can vouch for non-soggy crusts!

barking · 17/11/2008 12:50

pizza pan
here on amazon, there are cheaper ones on there, just make sure they have the holes
