nothing, you will all be far too windy!!

celeriac soup

roast or mash the rest

roast the veg with some garlic and some kind of herb like rosemary. If you have chance marinate them in a bag with oil etc for 24 hours before hand. Think Delia has a recipe that does something like this

ChippyMinton · 10/11/2008 21:16

Roas the veggies but save the celeriac to make celeri-rave salad.

celeriac remoulade - like coleslaw but with celeriac only. It's gorgeous. You're on your own with the rest... Well, Vichy glazed carrots also gorgeous

Boil it all til tender.
Mix together about 200ml of creme fraiche and 2 tsp horseradish.
Put veg into oven dish, smooth creme on top, then cover in grated gruyere.
Bake ast 180 ish for 25 mins.

oh oh I know....

Hugh F-W's Four Root Soup with Cumin

Add 1 chopped onion, 2 celery sticks, 1 tsp ground cumin, pinch of salt and lots of black pepper to pan with 2 tbsp oil until soft- around 10 mins.

Add equal quantities (around 250g) carrots, turnip, celeriac and swede (or potato or parsnip), peeled and chopped, plus 1 ltr chicken or veg stock, and simmer until all veg are tender.

Add knob of butter and whizz until smooth, adding a bit of mik to thin if necessary.

Make an artistic vegetable sculpture out of it and put a piccie on Flickr for us all to see. Now that would be irresistable.

Add diced spuds, peas and make a curry, with rice, yum!

TooTicky · 10/11/2008 22:42

Ooh, lots and lots of answers - thank you all!!
However, as nobody replied before I cooked them, I just diced and steamed them and they were heavenly but I will bear all your ideas in mind.
Thanks again
