Anyone know where I can buy baby gravy for my 6 month dd?

How bizarre that suc a siple question can such replies; not very helpful IMO!

I also used the Cow and Gate baby gravy. iI used it as a stock for making mini cottage pies (because I was too lazy to make my own stock!) and to moisten meat. DD has no teeth until she was 13 months, so it helped her.

Mind you, the baby stuff is very very bland, I stiill added other herbs, etc. when making things like cottage pie.

daisy - please don't feel affronted by this thread alone. this site is generally a great place o ask for advice, seek informatoin and give out info/help to others. Hope we do see you around the other boards

daisy have you tried tomato sauces with garlic and herbs

just fry onion and garlic, add tin of tomatoes (check they're just in tomato juice), some mixed herbs, vegetables of your choice (that you know baby tolerates), mouli it till very fine and freeze it in ice cubes, you can add a little to moisten most vegetables

or try yogurt (natural)

chicken goes nicely with cottage cheese to moisten it

they both moisten lots of different dishes really well

PS that wasn't a real argument, I could show you proper arguments on here that would turn your hair curly

daisy1 - PLEASE PLEASE give the site another chance.
I have only been posting recently and it was only a bit of banter - people never stay cross for long - and there is lots of great advice.

About the gravy - I make things like beef casserole (just bung lots of veg and meat in a pot with hot water and a tiny bit of an oxo cube) and cook in the oven - always loads of liquid left - just make it into ice cubes & freeze.
Then when you need some gravy, use your cubes

Salt is the problem in gravy. Food standards agency say:

0 to 6 months: less than 1g per day
7 to 12 months: 1 g per day
1 to 3 years: 2g per day
Age 4 to 6: 3g per day
Age 7 to 10: 5g per day
Age 11 to 14: 6g per day

But does anyone know what 1g of salt looks like?

morningpaper · 06/04/2005 19:59

Ah, all these threads about Bill Clinton's semen.

I used to mix up a smidgen of marmite in hot water.

She only spat it all out for the first two years anyway ...

morningpaper · 06/04/2005 20:02

1g of salt looks much like £60 of cocaine.

(This may only be relevant to people who have worked in meedja in London.)

oatcake · 06/04/2005 20:06

I'm laughing at you morningpaper, but I don't know why! Bill Clinton???

morningpaper · 06/04/2005 20:07

Bill Clinton referred to spilling his "baby gravy" on Monica Lewinsky.

(Not in public, you understand, it was something she quoted him as saying...)

oatcake · 06/04/2005 20:23

YEUCH! I'm not laughing now!

brinkley · 06/04/2005 20:30

PMSL @ morningpaper - can you imagine delia/jamie or nigella saying take 1g of salt - that looks like 60 quids worth of charlie... LOL
