My mum went to France to get hers, were a fair bvit cheaper - but then the exchange rate was better then. They are good, but v v v heavy.

traceybath · 23/10/2008 21:05

well i have the cream casserole dish which is fab and had the black satin saucepan set for my birthday.

I am less impressed with the saucepans to be honest - everything seems to stick in them and i'm constantly soaking them for ages before cleaning them.

I have three casseroles (ones with lids on) and I really like them because they can go from the cooker to the oven and are very handy for cooking anything that needs to be cooked in the oven, covered. My MIL says that they are no good because the enamel comes off - mine are fine but I've only had the oldest for five years, so maybe she is right.

littlestrawberry · 24/10/2008 02:40

I have a really big oval casserole, a medium sized and a small one. Love them to bits. Never liked the saucepans, too heavy to tip up and they aren't non stick. I use the casseroles for stews, soups, that sort of thing.

I got my casseroles on amazon very reasonable, they are pale blue so not to every ones taste but about 35% cheaper than high street.

Another vote for the big casserole dish. We've had ours for about 12 years and it's still in great condition.

travellingwilbury · 24/10/2008 06:54

I would only bother with the casserole dishes as well
The griddle pan is also good as well

We bought 3 pans , frying pan and griddle pan and apart from the griddle pan the rest are not up to much to be honest . Not worth the money

Yorky · 24/10/2008 07:01

My mum has had the pan set for years and they last well, apart from the frying pan when the non stick came off disappointingly quickly.
Echo everyone who says pans are heavy - handy for them sitting still while stirring one handed, or for weight training! Agree they are PITA to clean as sticky.
Love the big cassseroles for bolognese/curry/chilli etc especially if you do big batch cooking. (reminds self to show DH/santa this thread!)

We have the ribbed skillet, and while indisputably a huge pain to clean, it does make a great steak.

The casserole dish is also excellent but tbh, no better than the cheapie knock-off we also have.

They're surprisingly brittle - be really careful not to drop them.

AbbeyA · 24/10/2008 08:03

The casserole dish is super-I use it almost daily.

The le creuset tri vita range of stainless steel saucepans are fabulous. I have assorted casseroles which are also great for that hob to oven thing.
