oh yes he loves the stuff and would choose marmite for every meal if I let him.

When he started school he actually had marmite sandwiches everyday for 5.5 years and that was only broken because I mixed up the lunches and he had cheese and ham, which he ate because he was hungry but told me not to do it again where as DD wasn't please when she bit into her marmite sandwich

I was thinking of what I arte at around 11 and it was a very dull old diet..can't remember about breakfast but school lunches or sometimes packed lunch which would be bits of ryvita stuck together abnd always soggy (can't face ryvita now) and every evening lamb chop, peas and potato and that was it.

at MrsWeasley's boy's marmite obsession ! I love it too, no one else does here - best thing is marmite and watercress sandwiches.

What about marmite, lettuce, tomato and cucumber sandwiches, Morticia? I haven't tried marmite and watercress, but will be giving it a go!

We always had toast for breakfast, my mum and dad never really bought cereals as such only porridge - which I do like. In primary/middle I had school lunches and then high school I took pack - would have probably been something like ham or cheese sandwhiches, crisps and a biscuit.

On a Sunday we always had a roast, Monday was left overs, Tuesday was something like sausage and chips, Wednesday was a stew or say chops with mash and veg, Thursday was meat pie or say homemade fish and chips or spag bol and then Friday was an anything day as Mum and Dad went shopping went Dad got home from work so it had to be quick. Saturday was sort of like a treat tea, maybe curry or pizza.

Mum nearly always cooked from scratch and went to the butchers for meat.

One thing though, when something ran out say like fruit/biscuits/juice, we had to wait till the next shopping day, whereas I will just nip to Sainsburys half way through the week to top up. But then again, Mum does not drive so this made a huge difference.

marmite, lettuce, tomato and cucumber sounds delicious - it's that combination of salty savoury with crispy fresh !
