no - melt 3 mars bars and stir in flakes till consistency is right

or melt a bar of choc, a spoonful of butter and a spoonful of syrup, then stir in flakes ditto

Trebuchet · 30/09/2008 14:38

ps you always need more flakes than you think. I always used to think my mam was being stingy with the choc, but actually you don't need much to "glue" em together. Too much choc and they're sickly and you break a tooth!!

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 30/09/2008 14:39

right I have 300g of cooking choc, flakes, is it a tbl spoon??
I know I should chuck it all in but well! lol. and DS is pulling me a thte counter to do it all!

grease a tin (A4 or whatever you have)
get a saucepan

break choc into squares
place in pan
add spoonful of butter/marg
add spoonful of syrup
place on low heat
stir with wooden spoon

when all melted and amalgamated, pour in cornflakes
stir well
add more flakes if neccesary
stir again

pour whole lot into tin
press down
put in fridge for hr or two

turn out onto board
cut into squares
scoff

(or omit tin and instead put spoonfuls in fairy cake cases, in which case do not press down and they will set in an hour or less)

MrsBadger · 30/09/2008 14:55

150g butter
75g sugar
3tbsp golden syrup
300g porridge oats
Melt fat, sugar & syrup, stir in oats.
Greased 7x7" tin, 20min gas 4
You can add cherries / raisins / nuts / seeds / choc chips etc as you like - I never bother measuring, just sling in a handful or two.

cheers mrsb.
