Dry chicken in slow cooker - why?

Can anyone tell me why chicken cooked in the slow cooker always comes out dry? Its not through lack of liquid, its always covered. I've tried putting whole chicken breasts in and tried cutting it up and its still dry. I put it on low at 7.30a.m. and we eat it at 5.00 p.m. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

Possibly because there is very little fat in a chicken breast so they are not the ideal part to slow cook. try thighs and drumsticks as they should be a bit better.

Good point especially if they are skinned. I do a whole chicken and it comes out perfectly.

Do you cook chicken - any chicken, be it whole or bits, with the skin on or take it off first?

If I am stir-frying it I would remove the skin but for casseroling ect I would brown it with the skin on as this is better for flavour.

chicken breasts get over cooked in slow cooker

I don't have time to brown anything in the mornings, everything just gets chucked in and then I hope for the best
