I am going away now until the night before DS's birthday party so I am placing an online order for food to be delivered the night we return and will do all the party food then for the next morning!

I need to get organised and make sure I order everything!!!

What shall I have for the food??? (I have never done a party before, its DS's first one!)

There will be 8 3 year olds there, 3 babies and probably 8 lots of parents too.

Any ideas? Things that I must not forget?

Thanks!

humous + carrot sticks
olives
mini sausages
one or two of those tray pizzas cut into small pieces

Yes, pizza slices - v. popular
I did spring rolls also for the adults.
I did crips too - but found it best not to open them all up as so much gets wasted.

Instead I bought packets of those goodies ones and if kids wanted a packet they could grab one.

I did fairy cakes and just cut the cake for them to take home.

Sandwiches per Witchandchips

Cherry toms, cucumber sticks also.

Acccept the fact you will over cater.

Also, useful to get some of those disposable foil sandwich platter things. I know Sainsburys do them....

I did 3yo ds bday party on sunday and I did

Sausages (not sure where you're getting your shop from but sainsbury's do cocktail sausags you can cook yourself)
ham sandwiches (I took off the crusts and cut them into 6 tiny sandwiches)
cheese sanwiches
cheese footballs
twigletts
cherry tomatoes
cucumber sticks

then plates of cookies, strawberries and grapes.

for adults I did pizza express dough balls which went down really well.

Best thing is to keep it simple, and do multiple plates of the same thing rather than lots of different plates. Keeps the shopping easier too

Good luck

oatcakes

rice cakes

raisins

water to drink

maybe some carob drops as a treat? (but do make sure the other parents allow their little darlings sugar)

Actually, to asnswer your op properly:

Coffee and tea and nice biscuits for the adults

Sandwitches, cut into little triangles or squares. I like to do chess board patterns by alternating brown and white bread (each sandwitch is made with white on one side and brown on the other) A few big platters of these will do.

Cherry tomatoes

slices of salami and other cold meats

chunks of cheese (edan goes down well for its mild taste)

bowls of crisps, hoola hoops and twiglets seem popular.

Little cupcakes or biscuits or tarts.

Grapes

Don't try doing too many different things, think one main carbohydrate (sandwithes or pizza), some savoury snacks, some fruit and veg and some sweet snacks and fruit.

Diluted juice to drink. Just have one type on offer (unless anyone has allergies etc.)

Lovely, thank you all.
Am placing the order now and am referring to this list as I order!
