It's a greek dip - yogurt, mint and cucumber, I think. Nice in souflaki.

lucysmam · 21/09/2008 19:54

oooh, well they give some pretty interesting names to stuff don't they! I was expecting something much more exciting than a greek dip

I assume you just pop cucumber & mint in greek yoghurt to make it?

What is, or are, souflaki?

Scoop the seeds out of the cue first or the yoghurt goes watery.

It's lovely. Either buy the "Total" company's one, or make your own: the supermarket ones are all watery and horrible.

Souklaki are Greek kebabs - big chunks of meat (often lamb) on skewers and barbecued.

The tzatziki in Greece is laden with garlic as well as mint and cucumber - it is just lovely.

They give "intersting" names as it is a foreign language !!!!

lucysmam · 21/09/2008 21:21

lol ComeOVeneer, I guess so yeah!

MERLYPUSS, thanks for the tip about cuc seeds. Wouldn't have thought of that for myself

Garlic & mint . . . I will be investing in some to try or attempting to make some out of curiosity nex weekend.

Thanks all
