Lemon Drizzle question

So I take it you put the icing on whilst the cake is still warm? And after you pour the lemon juice on/in. Going to make it for my neighbour who has just come home from hospital with new baby girl.
Thanks, I'm a total novice cake maker. But a very professional eater!

I don't think it matters.

Ah a professional eater in need of help!

I normally mix 4 table spoons of lemon juice with 100gr of icing sugar and use a skewer to make little holes and pour that over the cake (must leave it in the tin as otherwise it will fall apart) and that is. Works very well!

You don't really ice a lemon drizzle cake. Just, as pickie said, mix the lemon juice with icing sugar and pour it onto the cake. Most of it will soak into the cake, but will also give the surface a glaze.

Got it. I was a bit confused with the leave some juice aside bit. Thanks pickie, hopefully it will make it to neighbours house in one piece.
