to make a chocolate sponge cake, do i just add cocoa powder to a plain sponge mixture?

because i'm writing a list of things to do in my new cooker if i get time tomorrow but have never made choc cake (mil usually makes them for me) so thought i'd give it a go

It took an hour and a half to cook and about half an hour to weigh out ingredients and mix together etc. It is very sweet and to be honest there is quite a bit of ours left - it wasn't that popular. Works out quite expensive to make aswell - as it requires quality dark chocolate - about 60% cocoa solids.

maybe one to keep for a special occasion rather than just people round for tea. will stick to either a plain sponge or maybe a cheesecake

i do 25g cocoa powder, 25g cadbury drinking chocolate

cocoa powder can be slightly bitter depending on the make.

if your gonna feed it to kids then the sweetness of the drinking chocolate is preferred.

oh, well i didn't know that! will more than likely give drinking choc a go then, since lo will be eating with us
