how much milk vs solids?

My daughter is now 7 and a half months old and I have returned to work part time (3 full days per week). I am breastfeeding her at 6am, and on my return at 6pm, then a feed before bed at 730pm. On the days we are together she feeds probably 4 or 5 times. I am expressing milk at work for her to drink during the working day.
My problem is that I do not seem to be able to produce more than 60mls during each expression and only my left breast produces milk - my right only manages a few drips- I try to express 3 times during the day 15 minutes per session, but still only get a daily total of 180 - 200mls. I have started to give her a bottle of formula in addition to the 200mls of breastmilk - but often my mum reports that she has only drunk 100mls milk during the day. She has plenty of solids and water/ diluted juice, but I wonder if she is getting enough milk?

Should I try to give her more milk and less solids? This is hard when my mum is doing the feeding, and DD is not too keen on a cup or bottle.

Your baby has 200 ml/day when you're working, plus solids, plus 100 ml of formula? Sounds like plenty enough milk to me.

At this age my first baby was were having about 220ml/day of EBM, 2nd baby would only have had about 120 ml/day at 7.5 months. I know it's hard with expressing to know if it's enough, but it sounds to me like your baby is happy with how much milk she's getting. Don't forget that quality counts nearly as much as quantity.

dd (8 1/2 months) has a bf in the morning. another at night, and one bottle of formula during the day. She can drink anything between 0-7 oz depending on her mood. If you are bf at night, then your dd will be getting as much as she needs then, even if she hasn't drunk a lot during the day. It sounds fine but you can give her dairy in other forms if she doesn't enjoy drinking liquids that aren't from you. try yoghurts, or mix cheese into her food - dd loves cauliflower and broccoli cheese at teh moment. Also grated cheese is a really good first finger fodd -although most of it ends up on the floor or in her ears!

thanks for the messages Prufrock and Zebra. had a god talk with dd this morning - and she thinks we'll be able to sort it all out,so long as the booby bar is open for evening drinks...

My son only drinks milk 3-6 cups/daily.He never
ate baby food.He will be 3 in March and the only thing I have ever seen him eat is Cheese crackers
(cheese nips), half a pear,a bag of M&M's,and maybe 4 oz. of juice. He almost never sleeps through the night.he never slept in a crib because I moved in with my parents after my divorce.Last week he started sleeping in his toddler bed.He is now on a sipper cup and uses that for comfort to sleep.my ex husband has been a cocaine addict for14 years.Could he have passed something to my son?I just don't understand why he will not eat food and never gets the 10-12 hours of sleep that a toddler needs.at the most he naps for 1.5 hours a day even when he has been up all night.can anyone help?He will be starting pre-school next month and is not potty trained.I
can only anticipate the worst! Can anyone help?

Hi just joined! My little girl is nine months has maybe up to 200ml of formula a day and a big bf at night, she is terrible with solids very independent, she does however like all dairy ie cheese and yogurts, I'm depserate to get her off of me, she will take some water/jiuce during the day. DD sounds like she is getting enough milk but maybe not enough solids. Is she waking in the night?
