Re-Heating take-aways

MrsSnape · 23/07/2008 12:21

I just want to start off by saying I don't usually allow my kids to eat left over take-aways for their lunch!

Ok, DS2 had a kebab meat and chips as a treat last night but only managed to eat half of it.

Now DS1 wants the other half for his lunch. It has been wrapped up in foil and left on the side all night.

a) will it be ok to eat at all?
b) is it possible to heat it up or is that dodgy?

I wouldnt even eat reheated kebab meat if it had been in the fridge all night, let alone out on a hot night!!

I'd have no problem allowing them to heat up a chow mein or a curry, but I draw the line at kebab meat even if it had been in the fridge all night I wouldn't risk it.

Rice is another food that I wouldn't reheat, not that it's terribly relevant to the thread.

But doesn't kebab meat just sit in the shop for days on end? Surely that's not much different to being on the side in the kitchen? Not that I would generally endorse eating day old kebabs, but I'm just a bit confused.
