I am feeling pretty rough today - blinding headache - and think I will just cop out on dinner and give dd fishfingers & veg (ordinarily a last resort) ... any reason why 7mo ds can't have the same, but whizzed up with the blender?

Birds Eye Fish Fingers (the 100% fillet ones) are perfectly health, are they not?

What's the matter with them? They have no e numbers, the only colouring is made fom carrot I think)
I don't think they are even particularly high in salt.

a slater?

I don't know about the e numbers or the salt but they are weirdly orange. Could be carrot I guess. I think one of the objections to them is that they are poor value. Like most processed foods. If you bought the raw ingredients and cooked them, you'd be getting a lot more for your money. Children seem to need a lot of them in order to feel full. Handy to have in the freezer though.

DS has been eating fish fingers around twice a week since he was 2 - he goes through phases of being obsessed with the things. Fish fingers, espcially the BirdsEye types, are perfeclty all right. Even economy fish fingers won't do much harm. Though his current demand-food (he is 3.10) is macaroni cheese....
