Planning on making a fort / castle for DS' 4th birthday

According to DS it must have a dungeon .. so I've sort of worked out how to do that (well how to attempt to do that) but I want some kind of lattice work edible thing to act as a grille over the top of the 'dungeon' ... is there anything I can buy that would work for that? .. it doesn't really have to be edible I suppose but it would be good

along the lines of I'm using ice cream cornets for the tops of the towers .. IYKWIM

I think you are looking at chocolate fingers, madame

hoxtonchick · 01/02/2005 15:55

could you somehow stick lots of those chocolate tiwglets together? would be very apt!

CountessDracula · 01/02/2005 15:55

They do still make them

hoxtonchick · 01/02/2005 15:59

oh yeah, matchmakers . you can get them in sainsbury's.

suzy i am writing to you as we speak!

Sweet waffles are in the bread section at Sains or Tesco. If you sliced thru it then you would have a very thin lattice effect.

Also, you could melt some chocolate and do a sort of lattice effect with an icing bag onto greaseproof paper. Once it is cold it will be hard enough to use.

oo piping a lattice with chocolate .. sounds tricky
