hi,

i'd like to gain some weight (in a healthy way) after loosing a lot after having DS2: i only gained 1 stone during pregnancy with DS2 who is 5 weeks old now, and i've already lost 2(!) stone... i'm now a healthy 59kg at 1,74m, but from experience with BF DS1 i know this is only the start of loosing loads more weight...

also, i'm only keeping on weight because i fill up on unhealthy stuff. i do eat at least 5 portions of fruit & veg a day (more like 10), but i also typically eat: 200 gr of chocolate a day, 200 gr of nuts (incl. peanut butter), 100 ml of cream, 100-200 gr of cheese... i know i eat way to much saturated fat and sugar... i just don't know what to fill up on as i include all the recommended food groups which cover all the vitamins, minerals, carbs, protein etc. anyone got any ideas? oh before i forget: i'm vegetarian and i can't eat gluten...

I had weight issues (needing to gain, not lose) and I was told by consultant to have full fat everything, plenty of carbohydrates, and to eat lots of biscuits as snacks, not just fruit. I remember she also said to give myself an extra helping, portion of food when I ate.

i'm doing just that! i have full fat milk, yogurt, etc., i put a looooot of butter on my bread, and i don't have fruit as a snack, cause when i'm hungry i want something filling like toast with peanut butter, a couple of bisquits or cake...

you didn't say about when you eat, but eating six times a day can be helpful - breakfast cereal plus toast x1/2, snack, lunch plus pudding, snack, evening meal plus pudding, bedtime snack/bowl of cereal. Your diet sounds ok, I wouldn't worry too much about the saturates, as they are balanced with a range of nutrients esp as you probably miss out on some of the 'baddies' that you might have if you could have gluten.

i eat about 5 times a day: i have breakfast around 8, second breakfast or early lunch around 11, another lunch at 2, tea or another lunch around 4, and big tea (more warm food) with DH at 7. and a lot of grazing in between...

not so sure about missing out on "baddies" - when on the go when i would have bought a sandwich before, i'd now buy crisps or chocolate... but, ok, at parties where others tuck into cakes i'm usually presented a fruit salad...
